Happy Little Trees

Recently. I've been feeling a little annoyed with the weather, my diet, lack of willpower and some other stuff... so what's the best way to let out some stress? Answer: Bob Ross. For those of you not in the know, Bob Ross (1942-95) is the single greatest American painter of our times. Not only will you be able to paint happy clouds and rivers under his guidance, you will also find any anger, sadness, anxiety, etc, slipping away immediately. Like an emotional enema! Words of wisdom from the Man himself: "We don't make mistakes here, we just have happy accidents". Amen, Bob Ross. Amen.

This is not a diet food

Ugh. This motherbiatch is the single largest french toast monstrosity I have ever seen. By attempting to eat this, I felt I was breaking some age-old taboo about biting off more than you can chew, or something akin to that. I was out 'n about with the Bec-ster when we spotted this... this... thing, and immediately felt ourselves drawn to its sweetness, it's frenchness, and its breadiness. No, we did not finish it. We are mere mortals! It gave me some ghastly indigestion.

Burn baby burn

Tonight I ventured into the tanning booth at the gym. 15 minutes of blood, sweat and more sweat. No blood, actually. I expect the following results, within a month (I'll be the one in the middle):

Go Ninja Go Ninja Go!

Yup, that is a bonafide robot ninja. Oh, Eigamura! No expense was spared to impress your customers, I can see that. This picture was taken in Kyoto's Toei Movie Land, which boasts old style Japanese features like fake robotic sea monsters and pony rides. Exactly like the Edo period! Except with more ninjas and less of.... everything else.

Death in Sanda

It was bound to happen sooner or later, but 2 of my beetles have bought the farm. Yes, gone to the big jelly cup in the sky. Strangely enough, crazy old Takeshi the kuwagata is still alive and kicking. We even have a new addition to the family, thanks to the efforts of Bec and Becki. This beetle is, alas!, sans horns, but we will love him and care for him and call him "Gaydrian". I've noticed that insects in Japan are disturbingly large. Recently, we've seen a number of M.O.U.S.'s, or Moths of Unusual Size. This mofo (pictured) was bigger than my hand. Credits to Bec for the photo.
