Absinthe-lutely wonderful

Today Tristan, the world's most dashing Englishman, and I went to The Absinthe Cafe in Shinsaibashi. We drank.... you guessed it, absinthe! The experience of drinking absinthe far outstrips the actual taste of the drink, which is, to say the least, completely vile. Like drinking extract of black licorice, yuck. My absinthe was stronger than Tristan's, so that makes me a cooler person.

Glad that you found absinthe in Japan, but from your description it may not have been REAL absinthe. Or you may not have been drinking it the right way. Keep trying: did you like your first beer, your first glass of wine, etc?

I looked again: a slice of lemon is not normal. See my blog for a few more details.

The absinthe I tried was called Hapsburg from Bulgaria. I don't think it was a fake but then I also don't know if that lemon was a faux pas. Maybe the waitress was new on staff :)
